Although I see EmpireAvenue as an excellent way to find new contacts, the game part of it can be quite fun too.
Since I wanted to take a look at the API, I made a windows application with some basic functionality that could be useful if you are an active EA trader. Be warned, it’s just a quick hack, it may crash or just don’t do anything at all.
A few screenshots:
The first screen just gives me some info about my own ticker:
The portfolio tab shows a listing of my portfolio with the ability to sort the listing in different ways. A click on a ticker name opens the ticker on EmpireAvenue.

Shareholder listing:
The ticker lookup can be used for some quick info about a ticker. There are two indicators that may or may not be of help to make trading decisions. If the ticker you are looking at also holds some of your stock, it will be displayed here.
That’s about it for the current version. Feel free to suggest improvements, but I can’t make any promises. This is done in my free time and there are no guarantees.
You can leave a comment here or you can find me on EmpireAvenue as FFNZ.
Oh yes, one more thing. The download link.
I will announce any new versions on this blog, so make sure to add it to your feed reader. And don’t forget to buy some FFNZ!

What does the EPR column stands for? What does it indicates?
EPR is the earnings price ratio, a high EPR could indicate that the ticker is undervalued since earnings are related to activity. Could probably be useful for those who buy cheap newcomers and try to figure out when to sell.
Not as useful for dividend hunters, as you will see if you check a ticker like CLATKO, it will show a low EPR, but on the other hand, he gives excellent daily dividends. Unfortunately, the dividends can’t be accessed via the API yet, but as soon as they are available, I will add them to the listing.
Note that the “earnings” are one day behind, it’s always zero for new accounts.
Thanks for the details. May I suggest you add in “Current Dividend Yield” or ROI in the columns as well?
I’m still getting the hang out of this, and as a newbie, this app is an excellent tool to see the overall portfolio. It would be great if there’s some prompts to i.e. sort according to potential high daily dividends, you know, the kind of all-in-one tool app.
I understand you are doing this out of your spare time, but when an idea pours in, I believe you’ll be all over it.
Great job and kudos to you.
I want a Mac version too!
Mac, mac, mac. Mackity-Mac.
Cheers, Ulf!

Have you considered a Linux version of EAvTrader that would run on Ubuntu 11.04?
“Have you considered a Linux version of EAvTrader that would run on Ubuntu 11.04?” Yes a lot of business people relay on the new touchpads (apple excluded) that run on Ubuntu so that would be very worth while market!
The program keeps hanging on Win7 64 bit. Is there a workaround or something I need to change to get it going?
No, shouldn’t be a problem, that’s what I’m using. Does it start at all? The initial startup can take awhile when you have a huge portfolio, should have been some kind of loading screen.
